Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement, 2021

Modern slavery and human trafficking represent an international problem. The Modern Slavery Act (2015) makes significant steps towards preventing modern slavery in organisations and their supply chains.

This statement describes the procedures and policies Novatus Advisory Ltd (“Novatus”) has in place throughout our business, supply and procurement chains to combat slavery, human trafficking and exploitation.

 

About Our Organisation

Novatus is a leading provider of management consultancy services to the financial services industry, operating globally from our London office.

We believe that the nature of what we do at Novatus Advisory means the risk of human trafficking or slavery occurring in our business or supply chains is low. Nonetheless, we are dedicated to conducting business at the highest standard, and all Novatus people are required to act ethically and with integrity in business relationships.

To fulfil our obligations under the Modern Slavery Act, Novatus has developed dedicated processes for the identification and prevention of human rights abuses.

Our Code of Conduct and commitment to corporate social responsibility, for example our carbon offsetting, gender diversity targets, and commitment to carbon zero, are based on our core values and drive the way we behave towards our people, suppliers, and environmental, economic and social responsibilities.

 

Employment Practices

At Novatus we are committed to the equal treatment of all, and we treat all our people with dignity and respect. This produces a working environment free from discrimination, coercive pressure, victimisation and harassment.

We report our gender diversity metrics each year, and our goal is to achieve a gender-balanced workforce.

In accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act (1996) and the Immigration (Restrictions on Employment) Order (1996), we require all employees to produce evidence that they have current and valid permission to work in the UK. All direct employees are offered competitive salaries based on industry specific benchmarks and have access to profit share and other benefit schemes. There is ongoing, and annual at a minimum, review of employee packages to ensure it is a fair reflection of that employee’s contribution to the firm.

 

Assessing Risk in Supply Chains

We govern all third-party relationships with slavery and human rights issues in mind. We continue to take steps to develop a process to review and assess how all our indirect suppliers comply with the Modern Slavery Act. In the year ahead, we have a specific focus that any new supplier contracts, in particular any recruitment agency used by Novatus to hire permanent and temporary staff, to ensure their terms and conditions include a specific requirement to comply with the modern slavery legislation.

 

Feedback and Whistle Blowing

We encourage people across Novatus to take active responsibility for improving our performance, policies and procedures, and drawing attention to issues of concern.

Novatus will review and update this statement annually in line with Section 54(1) Modern Slavery Act (2015) and as part of Novatus’ dedication to corporate social responsibility.

This statement has been made in accordance with Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act (2015) and constitutes Novatus Advisory Ltd.’s Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement for the financial year ending 05 April 2022.
